Boot Camp Birthday

For Jessica's Birthday this year we had a Boot Camp theme in honor of Drew. It sounded like a great idea in theory but it turned out to be as difficult as a real Boot Camp! By the end of the day I was wiped out and so were the kids. All in all it was so much fun, even if it did wear us out!

We started the day off with Field Training:
Here they are at the obstacle course. I timed each of them as they completed the course. Callie won by a good 5 seconds. She was like lightning! I don't have a picture of her with her award
(a rubber snake :) because I was trying to catch my breath!
The course was WAY harder than it looks!
Rescue the Wounded Soldier training was next. We separated into two teams. Sela and Samantha were the wounded soldiers and their team had to wrap them in bandages (a roll of toilet paper) and carry them on a stretcher (beach towel) back to the camp (house). If they were not wounded before their team rescued them, they certainly were AFTER!
The next assignment was Water Brigade, each unit (team) had to put out a fire that was destroying civilian crops. They had to run all the way from the house to the fence to put out the fire. I think this was the game that really did them in! They really took the competition seriously...
Next it was finally time to relax and have something cold to drink, (or we might have all passed out!) That's war paint on their faces if you're wondering...
Jessica put on her thinking helmet to decide on the perfect birthday wish.
 Okay, she decided...
Her wish was to get lots of gifts, AND SHE DID!
The best gift of all was Emma Kate, Maddie and Lilly coming to the party.
Sue gave Jess a bat named Buster.
We ended the day with ANOTHER drill. This time it was Drill Sargent Says and I was the Drill Sargent! Ugh, I was ready for the Bunk House after this game!
