Caught "Mouse" Handed!

Samantha took a picture of me blogging and then told her dad that I ran the battery down in her lap top because I was blogging all day long! I can't believe my baby "ratted" me out...
Even if she was telling the truth!

No Words To Describe This One Yet

Notice the gun on the back of the bike. I just thought of a word...C.R.A.Z.Y!

'Twas the Night Before Christmas

I asked Jes and Sam to get together for a Christmas Eve picture but they were mad at one another, that's why their arms are crossed. I reminded them that Santa was coming that night and he was not going to leave presents for them is they were fighting.
They decided they should make up...fast!
Jessica and Samantha were so excited it was finally Christmas Eve! They made Santa cookies before we left for Columbia and a sign to make sure he didn't miss our house!
We got in the car and I got the phone out to call Mom to let her know we were on our way. Jessica asked what time were we supposed to be there and I said 6:00, in five minutes (we live 40 minutes away.) Jes told me to tell Nana we didn't make it to Columbia but we did make it to the car. For us that is a big accomplishment!
When we finally arrived after 6:30 Hanna, Drew and Mandy were taking care of the shrimp for us.
Caden, Mandy's son, was there and the girls had a great time playing with him.
Tiffany, Hanna's cousin, was there too. She was especially "fond" of Clint!

Linda and Lucille
Dad and Dewayne
Jessica and Nana
Jessica and Samantha decided to tie themselves together with a pink scarf. They stayed tied together all the way there in the car and finally decided to untie themselves because it would be easier to open their gifts!
After they opened their gifts, they put on the Christmas nightgowns that Aunt Sue gave them so they would be ready for Santa when we got home. Just in case he flew over us in the truck they could close their eyes and pretend to be asleep.
These precious angels don't have to worry about Santa skipping their house. ...
'Twas the night before Christmas when all through the house, all the creatures were stirring, even a mouse...Yes, Nana got the girls their own Zhu Zhu pets. Jessica named the white one Delizer and Samantha named her brown one Coacoa.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.
The children weren't nestled all snug in their beds,
But visions of sugar-plums still danced in their heads...
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

Ear Piercing Day Again

Samantha decided she couldn't live without pierced ears so we went to Claire's on Monday to get them pierced again. She's really tough because it's the third time she's done this! Her ears keep getting infected and we let them grow up. Not this time, third times a charm, right!

Y'all didn't believe I would do it again did you!
Told ya! Aren't they beautiful!

Early Christmas with the Cousins

We had Christmas last Saturday with Emma Kate, Maddie, Lilly, Uncle Blake and Aunt Megan because they will be in Wisconsin Christmas Day. Most of the day is on video, because I remembered it this time, but I did take some pictures in front of Aunt Sue's Christmas tree.

Sammie baby.
Me and "Lillers" Blake and Megan, Is that how you spell it?

School Christmas Parties

Me and Sam at her Christmas party coloring.
Sam and Kenna eating pizza.
The whole gang, yes this is ALL the girls in her class. That's it!
Samantha showing off the Christmas gift she, Kenna and Emmaline gave their teachers.

And here are the rowdy boys in her class. The girls are out numbered two to one! It's that way in all the kindergarten classes.
Jessica didn't want her picture taken. Guess she's too old to have parents around at school.
Sue caught her off guard without the scoul on her face for this picture.

Santa's Visit at Bethel

Jessica told Santa she wants "a lot" for Christmas!
I went to the Portable North Pole Website and asked Santa to send the girls a video message. It is the cutest ever! I had Santa send one to Clint too.
Here's the link:
It takes a while to load!
After the girls watched the video from Santa they made me get the video camera so they could send a video message back to Santa!
We will be watching it every Christmas for years to come!

School Christmas Program

G. W. Long Elementary had it's Christmas Program Tuesday night. Unfortuantely it was just 1st thru 3rd grade performing so Samantha's class did not participate. Jessie's class sang The 12 Days of Christmas and she got to hold up the sign for 11 Piper's Piping and Maddie held up 12 Lord's a Leaping. Jessica was absolutely thrilled to have a "part". It was really cute too. I didn't take a picture while they were on stage because I was videoing their performance but I did get some pictures after the program.
Below is Jessica, Galyne, and Maddie.
I tried to get a picture of Samantha with Jessica in front of the snowflakes Jessie's class made but as you can see she was in a VERY silly mood and would not cooperate!

Christmas Time at the Cude's

Once again we were at the Cude's in B'ham for Jessica's montly appointment. I fell in love with all of Leslie's Christmas decorations and had to take a picture of everything! We had a fantastic time as ususal. Leslie, Rod, Briggs and Max are going to have to stop making us feel so welcome if they want us to stop coming!
Below is Max and Jes in front of the Christmas tree in the dining room.
It was freezing that morning but Samantha insisted on wearing a short sleeve shirt and no shoes! That's something Jessica would do! Sister must be rubbing off on her.
Here's the Cude's "main" Christmas tree, Leslie decorated several! It is even more gorgeous in person! The only the problem is, it's real. Sue was so sick!

Thanksgiving 2009

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. The grand event lasted for several days. It started at Nana and PawPaw's house Thanksgiving day for lunch. Dewayne, Linda, Drew and Hanna spent the day at their house because Mrs. Lucille's family came over from out of town so we went over there a lot too.
Below is Nana and Sam preparing lunch for everyone. Samantha's a BIG helper in the kitchen (thanks "Cooking Mama").
I told Jessica to come over and get in the picture but the girls couldn't stop giggling and acting silly. Samantha put "bunny" ears on Nana and Jessica is giggling with a candy cane in her mouth.
Jessica and Samantha took special care to set and decorate the table all by themselves!
And they did a beautiful job!
Next Thanksgiving moved over to the Floyd's house. Here's Leslie with a flower in her hair that Briggs picked for her. I promised that I would not post it. That's funny Leslie, you know you can't trust me with a camera!
Jessica and Emma Kate outside riding bikes.
Okay, that was boring so they took the ribbon out of Emma Kate's hair, tied a wagon to the bike, and off they went! It looks like Emma Kate's thinking "I'm queen of the world!" That's Eli on the other side of Jes, he kept up with them on his big wheel.
Maddie and Hudson had to pull Samantha around the yard without the bike because Maddie can't ride a bike just yet, so Hudson helped push in the back! Thanks Hudson.
Then Maddie drove Samantha around the yard on the electric 4- wheeler. The battery ran out and Aunt Megan ended up pushing them. Sorry Megan : )
I told you that was Eli on the other side of Jes. Here he is on his bike. He was fast as lightning!
That night we all went on a hayride around Uncle Scott's land. Clint pulled everyone on the blue tractor. I haven't gotten pictures from Brooke yet...so check back.

The next day I put Grandpa and Clint to work decorating the front of our house while I decorated the inside. Clint tried his best to get out of it but I would not have it! He kept getting lost in the garage reloading bullets until I put my foot down!
And the big finale to our Thanksgiving Event! I ACTUALLY decorated the house for Christmas before the weekend was over! That is a Thanksgiving AND Christmas MIRACLE!

Pikes Peak

Here we are at the beginning of our journey up Pikes Peak with the mountain behind us. We were wearing T-shirts when we started but by the time we reached the top we were bundled up!
Too bad it's not a real bear.
I have fallen in love with the view.
America is "Beautiful".
The wind blowing the snow off the peaks was breathtaking.

The wind was so rough I felt like it was going to knock me down!
The Alpines and the Aspens were so gorgeous.
When Clint was walking down in the snow he feel down!
It was so funny he was just rolling down and he couldn't stop because he was knee deep in snow!
I started getting scared when we were on this peak because there was nothing but sky and drop offs on all sides of us.
Witness something majestic...check. Pike's Peak was so beautiful at the top I cried, then I cried because I was scared and begged Clint to go back down! He laughed at me so hard I thought we were going to drive off the mountain!
1 Kings 19:11-13
So He said, "Go forth and stand on the mountain before the LORD." And behold, the LORD was passing by! And a great and strong wind was rending the mountains and breaking in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of a gentle blowing. When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. And behold, a voice came to him and said, "What are you doing here, Elijah?"

The entry for “Mountain” in Dictionary of Biblical Imagery reads:

Almost from the beginning of the Bible, mountains are sites of transcendent spiritual experiences, encounters with God or appearances by God.

  • Ezekiel 28:13-15 places the Garden of Eden on a mountain.
  •  Abraham shows his willingness to sacrifice Isaac and then     encounters God on a mountain (Gen 22:1-14).
  • God appears to Moses and speaks from the burning bush on “Horeb the mountain of God” (Ex 3:1-2 NRSV), and he encounters Elijah on the same site (1 Kings 19:8-18).
  • Most impressive of all is the experience of the Israelites at Mt. Sinai (Ex 19), which Moses ascends in a cloud to meet God.
A similar picture emerges from the NT, where Jesus is associated with mountains.
  • Jesus resorted to mountains to be alone (Jn 6:15), to *pray (Mt 14:23; Lk 6:12) and to teach his listeners (Mt 5:1; Mk 3:13).
  •  It was on a mountain that Jesus refuted Satan’s temptation (Mt 4:8; Lk 4:5).
  • He was also transfigured on a mountain (Mt 17:1-8; Mk 9:2-8; Lk 9:28-36),
  • and he ascended into heaven from the Mount of Olives (Acts  1:10-12).
  • Jesus also designated a mountain in Galilee from which he gave the Great Commission to the eleven (Matthew 28:16).
  • Jesus is both the tabernacle of God among men (John 1:14) and a temple (John 2:19-22) who builds the new temple (Ephesians 2:19-22 [his body, the church]).
  • Hebrews 12:18-24 contrasts Mount Sinai and Mount Zion in the context of the transition from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant. God’s people have gone from one mountain to another. Surely these mountains are symbols of the Old Covenant and the New Covenant and have their foundation in the first mountain-temple, the Garden of Eden.
