Eli's Birthday Party

 Happy Birthday Eli!
Briggs and Max gave Eli an extra special treat for his birthday. A song from them. Cha cha cha! Hi Ya!
Alright! Let the fun begin!
Samantha and Scottie deciding where she should start.
Jes and Sam started with a very serious game of air hockey.
 Samantha made a new friend.
Briggs and Jes took off in a rocket!
They had a great time!

Manicure at Nana's House

Samantha and Nana are two peas in a pod!
Only the perfect shade of RED will do!

We were so happy to have our 'cousin' Caden visit us at Nana's.
 He loves his Nana too!

Olympics at the Lake

Not many people are aware that the 2012 Summer Olympics held some of their gymnastic-diving competition at the lake in Louisville. (It's a new event at the Olympics.)

First up, Samantha Smith performed The Twist into the water.
This performance put a lot of pressure on our next competitor,
Jessica Smith, and her famous Possum move.
Jessica had to have a restart due to uncontrollable laughter,
unfortunately points did have to be deducted from her overall score.
And our final competitor is Ellie Slawson!
Can her signature 'Horse Trot' move keep her in the competition?
You be the judge!

Hanging Out at the Dock

Ahh. Sisterly love...

and more love.
The only thing better than the water is the food!
No, the truly best thing about the lake is spending Saturdays with our friends!

Briggs' Baptism at Brook Hills in B'ham

There's only one thing better than a baptism and that's getting to go to The Church at Brook Hills for the baptism. It doesn't get much better than that! We were so happy Leslie and Rod invited us to go!
After church we all went to P.F. Changs for lunch.
The kids really liked the chopsticks, just not for eating.

 Proud Grandparents!

It was a wonderful day for a wonderful family.

Sunset at the Lake

Psalm 65:8
 "The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders;
where morning dawns, where evening fades,
you call forth songs of joy."
Sunset at the lake brings such calm and stillness to my soul.

Tube Time!

Samantha had a couple of bad wipe outs over the past couple of years so she has been reluctant to get back on the tube. Well, she decided to go for it again this year.

It's not like she didn't know better!
I'm so glad I don't have boys. I would have died of a heart attack by now!

This actually looks like the wipe out the girls had a couple of years ago!
You can see why Samantha is a little hesitant to get on the tube!

Slalom

Jessica started slalom skiing this year!

She doesn't have any trouble getting up, which is the hardest part of slalom skiing!

Once you're up one ski is much easier than two...

Hopefully next year she will start working on the course!

Bring the Rain

It's starting to rain. What should we do now?
Drink it in!
There's something wonderful about warm rain at the lake.
Anna noticed the end of the rainbow was
falling on the water right in front of us.
It was such a surreal moment.

Isaiah 54:9–10

“This is like the days of Noah to me:
as I swore that the waters of Noah
should no more go over the earth,
so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you,
and will not rebuke you.
and the hills be removed,
but my steadfast love shall not depart from you,
and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,”
says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
