Rebel Girls

Introducing the 2010 Midget Rebel Cheerleaders!
And here they come down the field.
They've got the look but can they cheer?
You bet they can cheer!
They cheered...
...and cheered
but even though the Rebel girls cheered their hearts out the football team rarely scored a TD.
That didn't get Samantha down.
She cheered for the Rebels even louder.
(I think she was really out there to swing those hips!)
Uh oh! She caught me taking pictures!
She showed me!
Samantha had a great time.
She was truly a natural cheering on her team.
She especially enjoyed spending time with her friends.
So what was Jessica doing while Samantha was cheering?
Talking of course!
And eating...
And eating and talking!
She kept the concession stand in business!
It was a great year and I am postitive there will be many, many more to come. It might even be as many as me. Mom, Dad thanks for watching me cheer for twelve years.
 Looks like it's payback time!

Montgomery Zoo

Sam's first grade class went to the Montgomery Zoo for their field trip Oct. 29th. I'm sure I was nominated for Mother of the Year. Crazy me sent Samantha to school wearing shorts and flip flops on the coldest day of the year. THEN I stopped at Wal-Mart on the way to Montomery thinking the bus would be much slower than me (driving 75 miles per hour.) I was wrong. I was late yet again! Poor baby was worried, she didn't even change into the jeans I bought because I was so late and she wanted to get started on the tour!
Sam and I were paired up with Wyatt for the day. All he could talk about was REPTILES so we had to make a bee line for the reptile exhibit!
We had to look at them all very closely, they look a little worried don't they! Actually I think Wyatt was thinking of a way to get past the glass.
Outside the reptile exhibit, the zoo had this Frankenstein set up for their Halloween tour. Sam and Wyatt were just as fascinated with it. Kids!
We fell in love with this little guy!
This eagle at the zoo is Nova's brother (War Eagle!)
It's so much fun to see the world through a
child's eyes.
Don't they look like they were really concentrating on the animals. They were...
...I would love to know what they were thinking.
And we came to the end of the tour and a class picture was in order to commerate the day. That's Samantha in the middle.
Well, they couldn't stay still any longer. They were looking at the playground the entire time we were trying to get their picture.
 See ya!
I'm sure I'll be receiving my Mother of the Year nomination in the mail any day now, but just for good measure we stopped and bought Samantha a North Face jacket on the way home. That ought to clinch it for me.

Halloween Cupcakes

Samantha and I decided to make Halloween cupcakes this year. We're not Martha's so we went for simplicity. We put gummy worms on top of chocolate frosting, and by the looks of Samantha's chocolate covered face, I'd say they were just as tasty!

Here are the girls showing off the jack-o-lantern Jessica and her friends carved at school that day. I went to Jessica's classroom and help her, Molly and Cole with their pumpkin carving party. They designed it and carved it themselves. Of course I was late, and Jessica was acting like she was worried I wouldn't be there. I looked at her and asked, "When have I ever been on time?"
We laughed.
Why are kids so fascinated with the inside of a pumpkin?

New School Year

Well so far Jessica has been spending quite a bit of time in ISS for Mrs. Childers. She said when Jes graduates from 6th grade and they vote on Most Talkative, she is going to vote for Jessica. Samantha is staying out of trouble in Mrs. McDaniels' room. Well, trouble with the teacher anyway. Boys...that's another story all together. From what I can tell, she has several fighting for her attention.
