McWane Center

"You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself." Galileo
Here we are at the McWane Center in Birmingham with Leslie, Briggs and Max. We had a GREAT time. In the pictures below, Samantha and Jessica and Briggs are trying to catch a tornado.
Briggs is giving the weather report.
Max in the vegetable patch. This makes me think of Rabbit on Winnie the Pooh.
Max getting ready to play in the water table.
Briggs looking at a catfish in the "Alabama River." Catfish are ugly!
Jessica pretending to be Johah in the fishes mouth.

Jessica, Samantha and Max in the distortion room. They are looking at a monitor at themselves. It was just like Alice in Wonderland.
Max and Jessica in trainging for Nascar.

Jessica is pulling herself up on a pully. She is strong as an ox.

Briggs, Jessica and Samantha found a fun house mirror.

We had so much fun. We can't wait to go back. The best part was the lighting show but we couldn't take pictures of lighting...well I did take pictures but you can't see it : ) Before we left the show the speaker said, "If you can hear thunder you should go inside." Jessica said, "See, I told you, why don't you go inside!" Oh, my! That speaker didn't know who she was talking to!

School Update

Samantha absolutely loves going to school at G.W. Long. She is very tired at night and can be cranky in the morning but she is getting past that. She has so many friends in kindergarten with her and although they are not in the same class they see each other during P.E. and before and after school etc. She, Emmaline, Makenna and Blake all play together. Jessica is doing better than she ever has. She seems to enjoy her class and hasn't been upset this year (yet) because Anna is not in her class this year. She is smiling and laughing and cutting up all the time.

First Day of School

I took the girls to school this morning. Jessica separated from us as fast as she could because she is in 3rd grade now. She cannot be seen with her mom! She's growing up too fast!!!!!

Samantha really surprised me. She was very reluctant to go into her classroom and she was very nervous. I took lots of pictures but they didn't turn out because she looked really uncomfortable. I know she will be fine because Rita Miller is her teacher and MaKenna is sitting right beside her. Jacob from church is also in her class, that's Galyn's cousin. Poor Emmaline was crying in the hallway. Wesley Jackson from Mrs. Alyson's class at Westgate is in Haley Johnson's room. Samantha will be so tickled to see her at Long. Sam's boyfriend Blake is in Mrs. Whatley's room. I do wish they'd been in the same class. I can't wait to see what they thought of their first day!

Summer at the Lake

We had the greatest summer together at the Slawson's lake. Jessica, Samantha and Hanna all learned to ski. We went almost every weekend and sometimes twice a weekend!
Samantha especially loved to drive Daddy's boat. We took lots of videos of Jessica skiing. Here's Sam helping me with the camera.Me and Sam. She's wearing my sunglasses.
This was Jessica's first day on the trainer ski.Within two weekends she was skiing on two skis like a pro. Now she can even cross the wake. Sam had a lot of fun on the trainer ski.
Show off! Click play to see Sam ski.

Hanna learned to get up, over and over and over.

Below is Jessica, Ellie (in the back), and Sam tubing.
