Trunk or Treat

This year's theme was music so I went with Holy Hip Hop as my trunk theme! It was a lot of fun and the kids were more interested in the music than the candy.
Give it a chance, click play.

G.W. Long Fall Festival 2011

The Fall Festival was a huge success thanks to the PTO. It reminded me of the festivals we had in Columbia when I was a kid. There was even a cake walk!

Libby, Emma, Jessica and Kenlee in the Sheriff's helicopter, it was really cool.
It was all the rage to be a florescent cone head. This hair-do was the creation of one of the booths. Maybe we can skip that booth next year!
Samantha drinking a slushy, even though it was freezing. Will nothing keep these kids from a slushy?!
Sam with Chelsie on the ponies.

It was such a great night. I hope we do it again next year.

Sela's Halloween Party!

It was time once again for Sela's annual Halloween party, and boy did the Elkins and Browns really out do themselves this year!.
Samantha was a geisha girl and Jessica went as a jail bird, but I don't think those tennis shoes are standard issue,
Sela was the perfect hostess as usual. She was a New Jersey Housewife. Don't ask me, I've never seen that show, but she certainly looks the part.
 The food was scrumptious.
The main course was chicken feet!
Yum! Yes, she ate it!

After dessert all the kids lined up to have their fortunes read by none other than Sister Maria...
There was a lot of racket going on in the tent!
Jessica sneaked around to the side to see what was going on and Sister Maria caught her!
Next it was time for the graveyard scavenger hunt. Scavenger is definetly the right word...
Here they are coming back with their treasures. Looks like a scene from The Goonies.
If only they'd known who or what was out there with them, shhh don't tell them.... Happy Halloween.
Thankfully no fish came home with us this year! Yay!
