Rope in the Rudder!

This became a running theme throughout the summer, mostly due to my driving! Luckily there is no picture of me pushing the boat across the entire lake!

Crazy Days of Summer

Jessica, Samantha and Ellie are thinking about asking if they can go to the pool. They ask to go to the pool or to Blue Springs every Saturday! It's so funny because they have a huge lake all to themselves!
They made it to the pool and poor Samantha fell into the fountain and skinned her back. She had to sit out for a minute but it didn't keep her down for long.
Ohlay! And there's that pesky fountain!
Ellie won the toe touch contest.
 Sam was second.
Jessica was last of course! :)

Sweet Story of Adoption

It is no secret I do NOT like the geese at the lake. They honk at me and try to run me off! When the geese first arrived there was just a male and female. Then the next year they had two baby geese, goslings ( I had to look it up! :)  Then over the winter one of the baby geese had been eaten by... something. Then it was just the mom, dad and one baby. Next, Canadian geese attacked the mom and killed her so only the dad and one baby was left. That was no problem for me, the less geese the better.
BUT that's all changed now.
The Slawson's ended up with a little orphan black duck in Montgomery. The duck's family met with similar circumstances as the geese. Mr. Guice decided to bring the little orphan duck to the lake to live. The little black duck follows the geese everywhere they go. There is never a moment when the little black duck is not following behind them. I was so surprised that the geese allowed the duck in their family. It is one of the sweetest things I have ever seen. I spent most of my time at the lake this summer watching this new family. I see myself as the little black duck, black with sin, following after the Father and the Son, who have adopted me into the kingdom. Where is the Holy Spirit in the picture? Inside the black duck of course, giving strength and wisdom to live as a Child of God! In this life I still struggle with my flesh but He who began a good work in me will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. My great hope is to be like Him.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. Ephesians 1:3-6
The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. Romans 8:16-17

Eufaula with the Ganeys

Jessica became a legend at Lake Eufaula. I'm sure there will be many stories about this day for summers to come.

Here she goes...
She made it!

Okay, now back again!
She decides to stay on both for awhile.

Okay, now back to the first tube.

Well what now, I know! Let's flip!
Whee!
