Easter, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Yes, I know it's supposed to be a song about Christmas. But for me Easter is my Christmas. Like Ann Voskamp quoted on her blog
"...We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song!’
~ John Paul II
Below is the traditional Easter "photo shoot"
So God transfigures all the world …
Darkness transfigures into light, bad transfigures into good, grief transfigures into grace. And empty transfigures into full

Easter Egg Hunt

Here we are at Bethel's yearly egg hunt.
Samantha and Sela were all smiles for the camera : )

Jessica was her usual self in front of the camera. She thinks she loses if I catch her smiling for the camera so she is really careful not to slip up!
Yes, that's a graveyard.
I 'm thinking what you're thinking.
Luke 24:5-6 "..."Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen..."
Clint is cheating, see him pointing to an egg!
Funny thing is they were hunting Resurrection Eggs,
how appropriate!
I had the best time decorating for the egg hunt, but I forgot to take a picture of the bulletin board!

Hanna's Prom

Alicia (Caleb's mom) invited us to come by Gary and Linda's house (Caleb's grandparents) before Hanna's prom.
The girls loved seeing Hanna and Caleb all dressed up.
She looked so beautiful! Of course she got the dress from Nana at Andrew's. Lucky girl.
I asked Linda and Alicia if they planted these purple flowers to match Hanna's dress (Ha!)

Next year will be her senior prom and we'll have to go get pictures of her lead out too.
The way time flies it will be here before I know it!

Jessica's 10th Birthday!

Jessica started playing softball this spring and it's all she can think about. So naturally we had a softball themed birthday party this year.
Her caked is supposed to be a softball BUT if I go anywhere near a cake there will be trouble. I got the cake, brought it home and decided to put the chips on top of it so Jessica wouldn't keep opening the box. Well, it got SMUSHED!
It DID say Happy 10th Birthday Jessica before I got my hands on it.
Even funnier than the cake was Alley's appearance at the party. Alley was under the table during the festivities, partying with everyone, when Dasani and her sisters, Shamiah and Mariah spotted him. They DO NOT like cats so they screamed!Alley took off and jumped out the open window! The kids thought it was a good show. Poor Alley.
 Below, Jessica's opening her gifts...
Then off to play softball. Samantha was giving her all for her team.
Uncle Scott better not get her out!
Samantha deserved to be MVP of the game, don't you think?
Jessica and Samantha decorated for the party this year.
Below are the posters they made. Be sure to read the top poster. Let's hope the boys didn't read it!
This year the party was a week after Jessica's birthday and the azalea's were in full bloom.
I think we'll have her party late every year!
