The Christmas Program this year got it's inspiration from the mystery board game Clue. In this program, a group of kids are visiting the Mystery Mansion where a butler presents the children of this mystery mansion with a question: what is the gift that Christmas brings? Each child has been given a token as a clue, and they are to find more clues in each room of the house. Each room's clue tells a part of the Christmas story and highlights a struggle of an individual's character. For example, a hook tells about the shepherds and their commonness; a rope shows the loneliness of the stable boy. The clues explain how the birth, death, resurrection of Christ can give us identity, joy, serenity, forgiveness, knowledge and hope for our future. The message that the “present” of Christ is the gift of a hopeful future is one that goes beyond the Christmas season. http://www.onewaystreet.com/product/2611/christmas_musicals
Jessica was really excited this year because she had several speaking parts, and she nailed them too! I couldn't believe it was Jessica on stage! Jessica's getting so brave she thinks she would like to have a singing part next year!
Samantha played an angel again this year.
When the shoe fits wear it!
One of the best parts of the play was when they sang a song about Joy. It made me want to jump up and start dancing and shouting for Jesus too!
"Let's talk about joy,
JOY!
Let's talk about joy,
JOY!
Let's talk about J-O-Y-O-B-O-Y,
Joy oh Boy, it's bonafide,
Only God provides,
JOY!
Now what could Samantha and Emmaline be talking about in the middle of the play?
Samantha and Emmaline borrowed the little Christmas Elves' (Callie and Jolie) hats!
I made my debut in the Bethel Christmas play as a stage designer. Once Broadway or Hollywood gets a look at this picture I will be in BIG demand!
The kids performed the play Friday and Sunday night. It was the first year it's been performed twice. Clint asked Samantha on Sunday afternoon it she was ready for the play to be over. She said, "Oh no! I wish we could do it 100 times!"
